Bill of Rights

Rights and Responsibilities
The framers were careful to plan a government that limited the power of the central government separating its powers among three branches. They made sure that there were ways each branch could check or limit the power of the other branches. And they provided for a way to make changes to the Constitution as the need arose. These are the Amendments. The first ten of these are the Bill of Rights which protect us from unfair treatment by our national, state and local governments.
